Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was a child of British parents Jacqueline Luesby, a lawyer and Chris Watson, a teacher in Paris, France. She made the move to Oxfordshire at the age of five years old, and attended the Dragon School. Emma realized when she was six that she wanted to be an actress. For a number years she studied at the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch which was where she learned singing, dancing, acting and much more. She was a stagecoach actor and was the lead in several Stagecoach productions. The casting process started for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (192001) it was the film adaptation J.K. Rowling’s bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. After eight continuous auditions David Heyman revealed to Emma and Rupert Grint (other applicants) that they were chosen to play Hermione Gringer, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's film debut. It was the most-grossing movie in 2001, breaking records in terms of opening-day sales and opening weekend take-offs. Critics praised the film and the performances of three young actors who were the most prominent. The widely read British newspaper, 'The Daily Telegraph', called her performance "admirable". Emma won the Young Artist Award as Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film as well as being nominated for five awards. Emma rose to fame after the success of the debut film in the franchise. For a total of ten years, she played the role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma was nominated for two Critics' Choice Awards by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
