Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born August 26, 2002, is an American artist and rapper. He gained mainstream recognition due to the release of the 2019 hit single "Ransom", which reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was featured on his debut mixtape Love You Tecca (2019) that peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard 200. It also contained the singles Love Me and Did It Again. His debut album"Virgo world" (2020) was released at the top of the Billboard 200 at number 10. It also featured the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs "Dolly" and "When You Down". His second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was released in the month of August 2021. It included "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002 in the Queens neighborhood of New York City to Jamaican immigrants. Sharpe was raised in Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens which he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. From an early age, Sharpe had aspirations of being a player in the NBA, but around the age of 12 Sharpe began to turn his attention toward pursuing a career path in music. Sharpe attended Lawrence High School. When Tecca was nine years old, Tecca acquiesced to his love of music by rapping along with his friends using his Xbox. They would occasionally make diss tracks about one another. One was uploaded to SoundCloud some time ago, but the track has since been deleted. At first, he did not have any plans to pursue a musical career however, he had a dream of becoming a NBA star. He began to pursue music more seriously after he dropped his interest in basketball during middle school. The first track that gained some attention, "Tectri", was created by him and his friend, Lil Gummybear, and was released in the beginning of 2017. The other tracks he has released comprise "Callin" and "Tectri". One year later, Tecca's career began to grow by releasing his smash single "Ransom" and was released on Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22 the 22nd of May, 2019. The song reached the top spot at 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has had over 800 million plays on Spotify and more than 300 million views on YouTube.
